ISAF - World Match Racing Tour

The World Match Racing Tour, the successor to the Swedish Match Tour and ISAF today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking the first phase in the achievement of a long term partnership to create a new World Match Racing Tour. The World Match Racing Tour features ten of the premier ISAF Graded match racing events with competitors earning points towards the Championship based on their finish at the individual events.

First impression from the match race clinic in Athens from the Greek Teams

It's the first time that Greek sailing MR teams decide to organise a clinic to improve the MR level in Greece and attract more people to sail having fun and learning tactical situations at the same time.
After 2005 Dream Race where sailors left with the best feedback from the umpires where Juerg Kaufmann was included they decided reinviting him and also adding the experienced Luca Babini to get all together and train for 4 days in Athens.
4 teams are attendindg the seminar( Karageorgiou, Tsoulfas, Venetsianos, Bekatorou) and 2 international judges from Greece( Tsantilis, Skylitshis).The theoretical part is held in Yacht Club of Greece and the the sailing sessions are run by the instructions of Dimitris Gerontaris.
The intention of the people participating is to make similar events in the future and prepare the sailors for Dream Race 2006 and similar MR events like Swedish Match and Nations Cup.
