Perfect weather conditions, sun, fresh temperatures and constant thermal winds of 8 knots accompined the first day of XII Roberto Trombini Challenge Trophy. There were all of 40 matches on two courses thereby completing 8 qualifying flights.
The most exciting match of the day was between Paolo Cian and Chris Dickson . The Italian started in the lead but was penalized in the incident at leeward mark and Dickson was forced to be entangled with the mark anchor line.
Cian got several red flags from the umpires, as normally happens when it appears that a helm has caused an obstacle to his rival, until Dickson managed to get free. The challenge continued with Cian taking another two penalties and he decided to pull out without reproach.
